The Clean and Simple Challenge over at Outlawz is "A Winter Birthday."  Immediately, I thought of Ann's birthday at the end of November.  And I came up with this card for Ann:

But this card, is NOT clean and simple.  O.k, it may be simple, but it has too many layers to ever be a true CAS design.  So, when at first you don't succeed, try, try again.  I looked at my calendar of birthdays in winter and saw that there were oodles of possible recipients -- but most of them were male.  So, now I wanted a CAS card for a guy.  Hmmm.  One layer of dark blue cardstock, a Cornish Heritage Farms stamp and a Hampton Art sentiment, and some white embossing powder.  Then I went crazy with my trusty hole punches and punched away to simulate falling snow.  Here it is:

WHERE DID THE TIME GO?

   What do you mean it is November all ready?  It seems like just yesterday I was welcoming in the spring and now it is fall and cold and summer is gone.  Although, I am not working as many hours as I had been the past 3 years, it seems I have less time for myself, because I have been trying to get things caught up, cleaned up and fixed up.  I am a long way from done, but I am at a spot now where I am hoping there will be more time for hobbies and fun.  (Keep your fingers crossed for me!).
    I want to post the Christmas ornaments that the kids and I have been working on, but before I do that; there are a few cards that I made earlier in the year that I want posted here, so this diary of all the cards I have made will be complete.  Yep.  It's been a while...

Multiple Personalities

It seems ages since I have had a moment to sit and craft.  And the moment for it has still not arrived.  I hope you are having better luck scheduling your time than I have had with mine lately.  The anxious, antsy, I really want to craft bug is upon me, but since I have no real time to go for it, I am posting instead a card I made some time ago for Josie for Multiple Personalities Day.

The red back ground paper behind the larger squares I printed with about every Sassy Cheryl "Sally" digi I had -- real tiny.  You can see that better here on the back of the card where it isn't as covered (notice on the red strip):

The Flower Girl

   Sunday has come and gone, but the Sunday CAS Challenge over at Outlawz is still going strong.  The Challenge this week is "Flowers."   Flower stamps are not something that I have many of.  Being my style is more in the cutesy catagory, over the years I've given away the majority of my flower stamps.  And what I have left, I did not find overly inspiring for this challenge.   So, I looked through my digi collection to find this flowery cutie by Sylvia Zet at Wee Stamps.

 I diligently wrote down every Copic color I used on this and then I promptly lost the paper that I wrote it all on.  The sentiment stamp is from TPC Studios and is embossed with Zing! embossing powder.  
   Thanks again to the Clean And Simple Design Team at Outlawz for inviting me to play along with them these past few weeks as a guest designer.  I had I lot of fun!  You ladies are wonderful!!

   It's snowing again, or should I say "still?"  It seems this winter has been nothing but one big snow/ice storm.  Which has made it one of the prettiest winters that we have had in a while.  But, jesh, I just got the driveway scooped from the last accumulation -- oh, well.

When You are Feeling Blue -- Just Paint Yourself Another Color

     I wanted to make a card for the "Winter Blues" challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's and I had just the image I wanted to use -- a Sassy Cheryl merged with a DZ Doodles reindeer.  I had printed some of these out for my Christmas cards and didn't get a chance to color them up, so here was my opportunity.  But everything, and I do mean everything went wrong with coloring this card.  From me being too heavy handed with the Copics (happens to me a lot, especially when I am tired) to the Stickles throwing up all over it.  I ignored the poor coloring, scraped off what Stickles I could and made it into a card for my granddaughter to play with (she's too young to be a critic, so she appreciates any card I give her).

I haven't given up on this merged duo, but hopefully I will do a better job on my next try!

   The temperature is -8 degrees F.  The wind chill is -33.  Roads are "slick and hazardous."   Power outages are to be expected.  And the first seed catalog of the season arrived, which makes everything else - well, if not alright at least more bearable -- and while I am cuddled on the couch dreaming of my garden yet to be -- it is down right nice!!   So, today I chose Sassy Cheryl's Farmer Sally to make a card for a friend who also likes to garden and "put away."

Here's the bubble card that I sent to Bridget. Thank you Mel West for the lace that was used on it.

Here was the challenge:

- 20 minutes from start to finish
- Main image must be stamped straight onto the card
- May use punches, but not the Cuttlebug (or Cricuit, if I had one)
- A sheet of card stock can be used, other than the card itself, but no patterned papers
- No coloring the image in with any medium
- One embellishment of choice can be used
- Any sentiment stamp may be used, or the sentiment may be generated on the computer
And the really hard one:
- She picks the "category" of the stamp used, (but fortunately not the exact stamp)

The category chosen was: fashion

Here's what I came up with:

The dress is from Rubbernecker, the sentiment from High Hopes. The dress and sentiment are heat embossed with Ranger's embossing powder (Well, she didn't say I couldn't use embossing powder. So, all is fair there.)

Hip Girl

Well, I just had to use more of that great DP that I received. I'm not real sure if a hippy girl goes with skull paper though -- but I really like that paper and just had to use it!

Simply Chicks

Every time I sit down to make a card I hear the voice of FDR saying "Keep it Simple, Stupid." And yes, FDR is the only past president who speaks to me when I try to scrap. And no, I don't know exactly why he thinks I am so stupid. I guess I am just lucky that it is my favorite past president who haunts me and not Nixon -- imagine the names he would call me! This card turned out really simple, even by FDR standards, but I do like the image. I believe it is from Oscar's Door County Rubber Stamps, but unfortunately I am not sure of that.
