Multiple Personalities

It seems ages since I have had a moment to sit and craft.  And the moment for it has still not arrived.  I hope you are having better luck scheduling your time than I have had with mine lately.  The anxious, antsy, I really want to craft bug is upon me, but since I have no real time to go for it, I am posting instead a card I made some time ago for Josie for Multiple Personalities Day.

The red back ground paper behind the larger squares I printed with about every Sassy Cheryl "Sally" digi I had -- real tiny.  You can see that better here on the back of the card where it isn't as covered (notice on the red strip):

The front of the card looked like this:

May YOU be enjoying many a fun filled crafting moment!

Sassy Audrey

Wanted to make my sister, Audie, a girly card.  Didn't want to get too awful girly -- since it is from me, which explains my choice of image.  Hopefully, this card reflects the girly, girl of my sister and the impishness of myself.

Take Two

This image was just crying out for me to try it again.  It turned out some better than my last effort, but I have decided that part of the problem is that my Copics need a good cleaning -- if I can only get myself to stop coloring, I might get that done.

When You are Feeling Blue -- Just Paint Yourself Another Color

I wanted to make a card for the "Winter Blues" challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's and I had just the image I wanted to use -- a Sassy Cheryl merged with a DZ Doodles reindeer.  I had printed some of these out for my Christmas cards and didn't get a chance to color them up, so here was my opportunity.  But everything, and I do mean everything went wrong with coloring this card.  From me being too heavy handed with the Copics (happens to me a lot, especially when I am tired) to the Stickles throwing up all over it.  I ignored the poor coloring, scraped off what Stickles I could and made it into a card for my granddaughter to play with (she's too young to be a critic, so she appreciates any card I give her).

Sassy Cheryl:  Sassy Sally Plays A Trick & DZ Doodles Reindeer
I haven't given up on this merged duo, but hopefully I will do a better job on my next try!

Last night, I colored up this image for a birthday card and it wasn't until this morning when I was stamping the sentiment on, that I realized that this card is blue, too.  So, this is the card that I am going to enter in the Sassy Cheryl Challenge:

Sassy Cheryl:  Just Be Yourself

The temperature is -8 degrees F.  The wind chill is -33.  Roads are "slick and hazardous."   Power outages are to be expected.  And the first seed catalog of the season arrived, which makes everything else - well, if not alright at least more bearable -- and while I am cuddled on the couch dreaming of my garden yet to be -- it is down right nice!!   So, today I chose Sassy Cheryl's Farmer Sally to make a card for a friend who also likes to garden and "put away."

You've Got Mail

Recent "just because" cards:

The same LOTV that I used for Amelia's birthday, became a Kindred Spirit card for Maria R.:

I like this little duck, but I did find him a bit hard to color with the limited Copic yellows that I have available.  He went out to Mel W. in Florida.

The doctor insisted that my son was going to be a girl, so naturally everyone bought him pink sleepers before he was born.  Fortunately, he looked good in pink!  Maybe that was my subconscious inspiration for coloring this PM boy in pink PJ's?  It went out to Claudia P.:

Simply Fall

As the air turns cooler and the leaves start to change, I think about all the people I would like to send cards and wish that I could make the time to actually sit down at my crafting table and try my hand at making the cards that I would like to make for them.  But, lack of time is my main issue.  So, the question becomes, how can I make a card quicker and still be satisfied with the result.   What is my favorite part of the card making process?  The coloring of the image -- hands down, my favorite part (although, I do not claim to be good at it, I do try!), so I want coloring to be part of the cards.  That I decided would be my card style -- just a colored image.  Then I had to decide how large the images should be printed...

Big:

Bigger:

Biggest:

No preference, really.  But I did decide they really needed the matting.  And when possible a caption.  So here are the rest of my extremely simple fall cards (all are 4 1/4  X  5 1/2):

Readin' an 'Ritin' an 'Rithmatic

School has started again for another season and I'm hoping my grandchildren are not "talkin' to the tune of a hickory stick."  Even my little 3 year old, granddaughter is starting pre-school this year and she is pretty thrilled about that!  So, of-course cards had to go out to them to mark the occasion.

A Sassy Cheryl for little Amelia:

And for Carson (who wasn't near as thrilled about school starting as his sister), another Sassy Cheryl:

This Bridge
                                  by Shel Silverstein
This bridge will only take you halfway there
To those mysterious lands you long to see:
Through gypsy camps and swirling Arab fairs
And moonlit woods where unicorns run free.
So come and walk awhile with me and share
The twisting trails and wondrous worlds I've known.
But this bridge will only take you halfway there --
The last few steps you'll have to take alone.

Happy School Days Everyone!

Thinking of You

The image for this card is "Sassy Sally Sits In Wonder" from Sassy Cheryl Digis. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession. She is colored using Copics -- with my new favorite hair color combo: E49, E47, E31. Tomorrow, she goes in the mail to Denise; today I hope to enter her in the "Thinking of You" Challenge at Sassy Cheryl's.

A Sassy Resolution -- Try New Things

One of my New Year's Crafting resolutions is to Try New Things. Well, one of the things that I have been wanting to do is to merge some digis together to make new images or scenes. What always stopped me was that I have no patience! Oh, come on, I find lasso-ing and layering in Photoshop boring, nothing against people who do enjoy it -- I am just not one of them. So, thank heavens for Cheryl Alger of Sassy Cheryl Digis. Almost all of the newer Sassy Cheryl digis are done in such a way that they can be easily merged in Word. Click. Click. New image. I don't know how Cheryl does it, but I am sure glad she does! Here is my first (of I know will be many) merged Sassy Cheryl images:
I used "Winter Birds In the Trees" and "Noah Tweety and Waldo" merged together. Colored them with Copics. Added flocking to the fur on the hat and the stripes on the scarf. And used Stickles on the trees and the snow and added some Flower Soft to the snow on the ground. Buttons, patterned paper and cardstock were all I used on the card. This card will be going out to Rick, but also, in keeping with my New Year's resolution I am going to enter it into the Sassy Cheryl Challenge. Thank you, Cheryl Alger!!
