I wanted to make a card for the "Winter Blues" challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's and I had just the image I wanted to use -- a Sassy Cheryl merged with a DZ Doodles reindeer. I had printed some of these out for my Christmas cards and didn't get a chance to color them up, so here was my opportunity. But everything, and I do mean everything went wrong with coloring this card. From me being too heavy handed with the Copics (happens to me a lot, especially when I am tired) to the Stickles throwing up all over it. I ignored the poor coloring, scraped off what Stickles I could and made it into a card for my granddaughter to play with (she's too young to be a critic, so she appreciates any card I give her).
I haven't given up on this merged duo, but hopefully I will do a better job on my next try!
Last night, I colored up this image for a birthday card and it wasn't until this morning when I was stamping the sentiment on, that I realized that this card is blue, too. So, this is the card that I am going to enter in the Sassy Cheryl Challenge:

ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along in the WINTER BLUES challenge this past week with my Sassy Gals!!!
Both cards are beautiful, great to cheer up winter blues and the colouring looks fantastic to me. You don't mean the top is a problem, no way I can't see anything wrong but we are our worst critics. I have no clue how to use Copics, I like the vibrant colours you pick. I know what you mean when you are tired it's harder to create. Happy Sunday, Shirleyx
ReplyDeleteCole, what are you talking about? I even enlarged (did a Bridget) trying to spot any of the things you listed...didn't spot a one! As always, your coloring is perfect and you make the best "finished" cards I've ever seen. Love them both but the top is my favorite. Feel free to mail me any of your rejects!
ReplyDeleteSorry Cole, I can't see any "throw-up" and the vibrant blue colors are awesome. We are our worst critics aren't we? You should file this away and pull it out in a year from now. I bet you won't find anything wrong with it either. Love the CAS card too. Thanks for sharing with us at Sassy Cheryl's this week. I am so happy both were blue. LOL
ReplyDeleteOh My Goodness! Both cards are amazing! you go girl!
ReplyDeleteI love how this little sassy gal has matching blue fairy dust.... what fun!
Thanks for playing along in our Sassy Cheryl challenge this week!
